In the Spring of 2005 we took our first greenhouse crop of heirloom tomato and peppers plants to the Charlotte Farmer's Market for sale. We had a wonderful time talking with folks about our "babies" and we were very pleased with the response to our large selection of varieties. Our fellow vendors as well as our customers taught us a few things about sales and marketing - setup, display, "educating the consumer", managing the checkout line, etc. We learned what varieties we should plant next year and that a staggered planting schedule will help us extend our market window. Although we had planned to sell our produce at the Charlotte Farmer's Market this summer, we found other outlets closer to home which allowed us more time on the farm.

Thanks to the vendors and customers at the Charlotte Farmer's Market who not only inspired us through buying plants, but helped us with advice, encouragement, and example.
